WANTED: Skaters, Officials, Coaches, Volunteers

Are you interested in playing derby? Maybe using your coaching skills to add fuel to the derby fire? Have you ever wanted to referee a full contact sport? Then the Mississippi Rollergirls may just be what you're looking for! We are seeking experienced -- and those with little or no experience -- skaters, officials, coaches and volunteers who have a heart for the sport of derby. If you would like to participate on skates, you must be at least 18. MSRG will train you -- from learning how to skate, to coaching, to being a referee. MSRG WANTS YOU!

- MSRG'S SEASON TWO -

Season 2 will start in October and run through May 2009. There will be many more bouts between MSRG Allstars and other derby leagues plus intraleague bouts between MSRG's very own Hurricane Harlots and our Dixie Devils! Once Dates are hammered out with teams around the country we will post them so everyone can mark their calendars! Then we will be scheduling intraleague bouts in between those bouts. We're looking forward to a great second season and we hope to see you there!!
The Mississippi Rollergirls will be hosting a boot camp May 18-20 at Skate Zone in Ocean Springs , MS . This is mainly a recruitment drive for the Mississippi Rollergirls but members of other leagues are welcome. We are looking for girls who would like to become derby girls and men and women that would like to be officials. This training includes but not limited to: Basic skills of derby, calisthenics, derby knowledge, and more.

We do ask that you be 18 years of age or older and have insurance (please bring proof of insurance, military/dependants id card is okay in place of Tricare card). All participants will be required to sign a waiver.

General Info:

Skate Zone – bring skates if you have them, if not there are rentals. Also, if you have a skateboard helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards it doesn’t hurt to bring them with you.

May 18 5pm-10pm

May 19 7pm- 10pm

May 20 7pm- 10pm

The cost is $10.00. This is for all 3 days, not daily. The cost goes to cover the water will be provided, rental skates, and equipment to borrow if you don’t have your own.
