Mississippi Rollergirls, LLC., founded in 2006, is Mississippi’s first women’s flat track derby league. We are a volunteer organization for women - owned and operated by our skaters. Our goal is to promote healthy, competitive athleticism among our peers, to foster the development of flat track derby on a local and regional level, and to serve our community through volunteerism. The women in this organization benefit from what we do and so, by extension, do the people in their lives. Our league enables women to be a part of something revolutionary- to take pride in an organization that they nurture and steer themselves by creating an opportunity for them to utilize their unique skills and talents. Everything that has the Mississippi Rollergirls name on it exists because an MSRG volunteer created it.

Women’s Flat Track Derby is an exciting sport! The roller derby leagues of today have revived roller derby and re-created it into a regulated contact sport where speed, agility, offensive and defensive strategy simultaneously unfold on the track. No: there are no rails, no wrestling moves, no hyped-up rivalries. This incarnation of the sport prefers legitimacy! If you haven’t been out to see it, you don’t know what you’re missing.

MUSIC & VARIETY EVENT TO BENEFIT RELAY FOR LIFE

The Mississippi Rollergirls, with the help of our supporters, raised $6,000 for the 2011 Relay For Life Event at Biloxi High School. Proudly, we earned the distinction of being awarded a plaque for "Most Funding Raised By A First Year Team" and a trophy for "Best Team Spirit". For making this possible, we sincerely thank Penny Edwards for Relay For Life of Harrison-Biloxi, John Shepler at Fort Bayou Saloon, Cowboy Killers, Silent Trust, DJ Gooseboi, Love Story's End, Her Fatal Remedy, Cenico Music, Sam Rice, The Mississippi Rollergirls and the unparalleled effort by KC "Tats McGee" Harrold and Cheryl "Hanky Spanky" Hanke
